Alpe d’Huez ascent of thr 93° Mountain artillery Regiment

Registration is now open for the 13th edition of the Alpe d'Huez climb, organized by the 93rd mountain artillery regiment.

The 13th edition of the montée de l'Alpe d'Huez returns in 2025 for its 13th edition. This race, open to all, raises funds for the Army's wounded and their families. By bike, run or walk, take up the challenge of climbing the mythical 21 bends, 1,100 m of positive vertical drop and 14 km of ascent.

Departures: cyclists at 08:20; runners at 08:30; walkers at 08:40.
Theoretical finish times:
-> Walkers: 2h30 to 3h for experienced riders, 3h to 3h30 for intermediates, around 4h for beginners. This ascent offers a great opportunity to enjoy nature and panoramic views, as well as being a physical challenge.
-> Cyclists: for the average cyclist, the ascent of Alpe d'Huez takes around 1 to 1.5 hours, while the best climbers can complete it in under 40 minutes. By way of comparison, Marco Pantani holds the record with an exceptional time of 37 minutes and 35 seconds during the 1997 Tour de France, illustrating the abysmal gap between an amateur and a mountain legend.
-> Runners: you should allow 1h30 to 3h, depending on your level, to run up Alpe d'Huez on the road, with the best runners reaching the summit in less than 1h30. It's a demanding climb, but a real challenge for mountain running enthusiasts.

- Parking and welcome: rte du Stade, 38520 Le Bourg-d'Oisans ;
- Start: sports complex, 38520 Le Bourg-d'Oisans ;
- Finish: military mountain post "Capitaine Jacques" - 170 rue des Outaris, 38750 Alpe d'Huez ;
- Return: arrival -> parking lot: shuttles leave every 30min to take you back to the parking lot (12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00).
