JAZZ AU FEMININ

Whether singers or musicians, women in jazz were often invisible during the 20th century, yet they marked out the golden age of jazz with fervor. The younger generation is part of a groovy, socially committed dynamic. Grenoble-based visual artist Bernard Béraud paints portraits on vinyl records of the great female jazz artists who have forged their own paths. An intuitive colorist, the artist sets these portraits of women in motion with a geometric construction that plays with our perception of color.
