About : organ concert: Songs of the organ and water

In 1925, Grenoble presented itself as the capital of "Houille Blanche" (white coal), the term used to describe hydroelectricity, an innovative form of energy at the time, promoted by Aristide Bergès. The Exposition Internationale de la Houille Blanche et du Tourisme marked the city's opening to the world, and underlined the central role of hydroelectricity in the economic and territorial development of the Grenoble basin and the Oisans region.

In 2025, to celebrate the centenary of this event, numerous public, private and cultural players are mobilizing around an ambitious program. The aim: to showcase a century of industrial innovation and highlight the current and future importance of hydropower in the energy transition. This celebration is aimed at a wide audience, and invites them to explore the technical, cultural and environmental issues associated with this energy.
