Jeudi du Bourg – the world aquatic championship – compagnie la Bugn

The long-awaited Competition has finally arrived! Inaugurated in the presence of aquatic officials and the mascot "Geraldine the Mermaid", the opening ceremony of the World Championship is in full swing: a multitude of flags of all nationalities rise from the audience, fireworks flood the competition site as athletes from all over the world parade past, proud to finally be able to compete in this renowned championship! The tournament can begin. One event follows another, each more zany than the last: kayaking on dry land, record-breaking apnea in an aquarium, synchronized swimming or team artistic tobogganing. Each event is an opportunity to discover sporting disciplines unknown to the general public, as well as the "champions" of these categories. Through this project, we'll be talking about sport, competition and sportsmanship. The angle will be parody, pastiche, offbeat, but not only. We'll be talking about sport, but in our own way, i.e. by revisiting this sporting spirit with a value we hold dear: self-deprecation. Ridicule is a philosophy that could appear salutary in our world, which only considers competition through the most absolute seriousness.
