Sport logging has its roots in the ancestral skills of professional lumberjacks, who for centuries have perfected their techniques for wielding axes and saws with strength, precision and efficiency.

Bourg d'Oisans will host one of the qualifying rounds of the French Timberports Championship.
Morning, from 10 a.m.: women's competition
From 1.30pm: men's competition (18 high-level participants, including Pierre Puybaret, our local champion)
Competitors will compete in 6 events
UNDERHAND CHOP (OR HORIZONTAL AXE)
Standing Block Chop (or vertical axe)
Springboard (or vertical chop on springboard)
Single Buck (or Pass-Partout Saw)
Stock Saw
Hot Saw (or competition chainsaw)
5:30pm: Final and prize-giving ceremony!
Numerous wood and wood tool exhibitors will be present on the square!
Refreshments provided by the Oisans Valley Lumbermen's Association!
Come and take part in this magnificent lumberjack show, in an American-style show atmosphere!
