ROUTE DESCRIPTION
Starting from the Bourg d’Oisans tourist office, ride towards the Post Office (La Poste). Turn left just after the post office, following the road to Villard-Notre-Dame.
At the bottom of the hill up to Villard-Notre-Dame, take the small road to the left and follow the GR 50-54 towards Le Vert. Carry straight on to the dyke and once there, to avoid the greenway (tarred track), you can take the small path off the right that disappears into the woods. This then joins back up with the greenway. Continue to the right along the GR 50-54 to the Cascade de la Pisse, where you can take a welcome rest and admire the waterfall.
Continue along the little footbridge, which eventually takes you back to the greenway. Here, turn left
towards Bourg-d’Oisans. This track takes you to a ford and, depending on the time of year, the water may have covered the path. You can cross on your bike or on foot... depending on how adventurous you feel!
Carry straight on to the second attraction of this ride, the Lac de Buclet. Ride round the right-hand side and at the end, turn left into the forest following the signposts [XC 2 - backwards].
When you get near the dyke, which you can glimpse through the trees, look out for a path on the right that will take you directly up onto the dyke, avoiding the 4 WD track. Once on the dyke, turn right and go straight on for 1.5 km.
At the end, leave the dyke by a path on the left and take a track that disappears into the wood on
the right. You then join up with the road leading to Bourg-d’Oisans, turning right. On this small road, more popular with hikers than motorists, you’ll ride past several enclosures with ponies, donkeys or horses... the kids will love it!

USEFUL INFO
Don’t start this ride too late in the day. The ride out is very close to the cliff behind Bourg-d’Oisans and is soon in the shade. Mid-July, the Cascade de la Pisse waterfall is in the shade from about 3 PM onwards.
